Simply Music Gateway: Flexible Instruction for Unique Learners Age 5+

Both programs prioritize playing music over reading it. While traditional approaches require that you begin to read music before playing music, the Simply Music approach focuses on guiding you to play the piano in your first lesson. 

Reading music is an acquired skill you gather along your journey rather than a requirement to begin your journey in these non-traditional piano lessons. 

The Simply Music philosophy is that all human beings, regardless of background or ability, are inherently musical. Simply Music Gateway just carries that philosophy to its logical conclusion —  that all people, universally, are capable of developing musical skill. To facilitate that development for students with learning differences, Simply Music Gateway isolates the various sensory stimuli within the lessons. Visual processing, fine motor development and auditory processing are separated within the steps, and only combined when the student becomes comfortable and familiar with each track. 

Some Simply Music Gateway students may eventually transfer to the standard Simply Music program, while others will gain the most benefit by sticking with the SMG curriculum.
